Dr. Dior Ghafil is an orthopedic surgeon and traumatologist with a specific interest in hip and knee pathologies.
In addition to minimally invasive prosthetic surgery, he performs conservative (osteotomies) and arthroscopic surgery.
Dr. GHAFIL uses a multidisciplinary approach based on his experience from the university environment to tackle the various osteo-articular pathologies.
Hip pathologies
Depending on the shape of the pelvis or femur, there may be a conflict between the femur and the pelvic bone which, over time, will damage the labrum and cartilage. In this case, conservative surgery corrects the mechanical defect of the joint, in order to relieve stress on the cartilage and reduce wear. If the cartilage is badly damaged or totally worn, a prosthesis can be considered. This is called prosthetic surgery. Thus, unlike prosthetic surgery, conservative surgery seeks to maintain the natural joint.
The main pathologies treated are:
Hip joint disorders
Avascular necrosis of the femoral head
Femoral-acetabular impingement syndrome
Fractures of the neck of the femur
Knee pathologies
The main pathologies are :
Knee Sprain
Meniscal injuries
Anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury
Patellofemoral syndrome
Recurrent patellar dislocation
Tendinitis
Osteochondritis dissecans of the knee
Osteochondral fractures
Bursitis
Osteoarthritis
